Hi there!
My name is Julia and I’m a graphic designer specializing in all things print design. I also have experience in photography, illustration, social media, video editing, and writing!
Art in the early years
I was born and raised in a small town outside Boston, Massachusetts. Growing up, art was always my favorite subject in school. I loved drawing, painting, and was constantly doodling in my notebooks. When I was in high school, I was inducted into the National Art Honors Society. When touring colleges, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in a creative field. I toured Johnson & Wales during my junior year in 2018 and fell in love with their innovative design spaces. I knew I wanted to study graphic design right then and there, and committed to JWU a year later.
Choosing to study graphic design at Johnson & Wales was one of the best decisions I could have made. I chose the print design focus path, as I discovered early in my college career that I loved all things print. I excelled in the program, creating multiple portfolio-ready projects while learning from my talented professors. I made Dean’s list every semester and quickly knew that graphic design was for me. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Graphic Design in 2024, and am so grateful for the opportunities I had at this incredible institution.
In my previous roles as a Digital Marketer at Johnson & Wales University, a Graphic Design Intern at Ginkgo Bioworks, and a Student Designer for the Potter League for Animals, I was able to expand on my design skills in the professional world, as well as develop professional skills such as teamwork and time management. In the Digital Marketing position, I fine tuned my writing skills which have now become a part of my portfolio. I published around 20 blogs on the JWU News page during my time there, which can be found under the publications tab. At Ginkgo, I took what I learned in the classroom and applied it in the real world. There, I worked on various projects such as social media postings, package designs, and flyer designs. These projects can be seen on the Ginkgo Bioworks page under the projects tab. My time working with the Potter League gave me experience working with non-profits, which is something I would like to pursue in the future. My work for the Potter League can be found on the Love Bash page under the projects tab.
